This was me a year and a half ago at 260 pounds at Paisley

Its been almost a year and a half since I left this guy behind. I was almost 260 pounds in this photo, had high blood pressure and my A1C level was borderline diabetic. I felt like I was slowly dying and I needed to make a lifestyle change quick if I was goin to make it to 30. I decided to take up weight lifting again, it had been years since I worked out so I figured what the hell lets hit the gym. My first day at the gym I overdid it and didn't hydrate properly. The next day a spell of confusion and fatigue loomed over me so I decided to go to the ER where I was unknowingly going into liver and kidney failure due to Rhabdomylosis.

loomed over me so I decided to go to the ER where I was unknowingly going into liver and kidney failure due to Rhabdomylosis. The doctors said no more weights, find something low impact. A few months later my wife and I walked into JC's bike shop and met Karlos Rodriguez Bernart, who selflessly taught me everything I know about cycling. Riding became a strong addiction for me, a medicine that both saved my mind and life. Cycling has truly lit a fire in my soul and I hope you catch the bug as well. A year and a half after this photo was taken I now weigh 195, strictly from riding bikes. Ultra Endurance is a rush for me like no other. I hope you catch the bug as well!
